One of the adult industry’s biggest stars has fought back against laws that will force porn websites to verify the age of every person accessing their content.
The intent of the legislation is to protect children from being exposed to harmful pornographic material.
It’s already been passed in 20 US states, while 16 more hope to pass the age-verification legislation before the year is up, according to the Daily Citizen.
But Cherie DeVille, who is famous in the porn world for her MILF persona, has revealed that she believes that the laws will backfire and actually harm children more than it will protect them – along with potentially decimating the legal side of the adult industry.
‘It’s going to be a massive amount of monetary loss, and I think you’re going to see an explosion of illegal, unethical porn because they don’t care and they won’t comply,’ she explained to ABC News.
DeVille added that she thinks that the legislation is a violation of the First Amendment right to free speech.
‘I do not care what you think about porn. This should terrify you because this is a massive government overstep in one of our most cherished things in the United State,’ she said.
DeVille doubled down on her stance to DailyMail.com, insisting that the laws would do more harm than good.

South Dakota became the 20th state to require pornography companies to check online consumers’ ages on February 27, according to Daily Citizen.
The legislation was also already passed in Louisiana, Arkansas, Virginia, Utah, Montana, Texas, North Carolina, Indiana, Idaho, Florida, Kentucky, Nebraska, Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Tennessee.

While sex workers like DeVille are fighting the legislation, moms like Dawn Hawkins want even tougher laws in place.
‘How are we going to teach our children healthy intimacy and boundaries and consent when what they’re viewing across multiple platforms is sharing really the opposite message,’ Hawkins told ABC News.
‘It’s not a matter of if my kids are going to be exposed to pornography. It’s a matter of when. It’s definitely going to happen,’ the mom-of-five continued.
‘As long as we’re prioritizing adults’ access to this content and not also prioritizing children’s safety, we are going to destroy the next generation.’
She added, ‘We are just asking that the pornography companies put a fence around it and make sure that those accessing this content are of age.’
In January, it was revealed that age-verification laws will soon be rolled out for porn sites across the UK.
DeVille (center) told DailyMail.com, ‘In reality, it’s easy to bypass, and only legal sites will comply – leaving illegal and often dangerous content as the only unrestricted option’
Any websites which host pornography must introduce ‘robust’ age checks to stop children from being exposed to it, Ofcom has said.
The regulator has set a hard deadline of July 2025 for the sites to introduce these age checks.
‘For too long, many online services which allow porn and other harmful material have ignored the fact that children are accessing their services,’ said Dame Melanie Dawes, Ofcom’s chief executive.
‘Either they don’t ask or, when they do, the checks are minimal and easy to avoid.
‘That means companies have effectively been treating all users as if they’re adults, leaving children potentially exposed to porn and other types of harmful content. Today, this starts to change.’

We’ve heard a lot about the dangers of internet porn – how it’s negatively affecting children and preventing young men from developing healthy sexual relationships. What is rarely spoken about is how many middle-aged and older people are also affected.
In the UK, thousands of men over 40 are addicted to pornography, and it’s clear to me as a sex and relationship therapist that this addiction is destroying sex lives and marriages. While I’ve been practising for 30 years, 15 years ago I started to see more and more men seeking help.
This addiction is not about the volume of porn viewed but using it to the extent that it’s causing significant problems in a person’s life and relationship. And then, despite these problems, they are unable to stop.
Which is why I now specialise in sex and porn addiction, providing counselling to both the addicted and non-addicted partner, as well as running groups and helping couples rebuild trust and intimacy.

The 30-year-old Yeezy Head of Architecture was at the center of fashion and culture journalist Louis Pisano’s bombshell article on his Substack published on Monday as the piece featured an interview with ex-Yeezy Senior Designer Pierre Louis Auvray (pictured in 2017) and included alleged ‘disturbing and inappropriate’ messages sent by Censori months after a lawsuit over similar charges was filed .
In the Substack piece, Auvray claimed that once Censori had been hired as an architect, she began sending explicit and inflammatory content as they had discussed potential imagery for the brand
Auvray began working for Kanye in 2020 and he said that things had been working well even despite the star’s tardiness and behavior, however, Auvray claims that things started to change as Kanye’s relationship with Kim Kardashian began to unravel; the former couple are seen in April 2015
‘I’ve been authorized by Bianca to stress that any allegation that she showed or caused to be shown any pornographic material to minors is offensive, disgusting, abhorrent and categorically and wholly false,’ the statement says.
Kanye has recently taken to social media to say he has ‘dominion’ over his wife Bianca Censori and branded her controversial naked Grammys dress the ‘best look of all time’.
West was first accused of anti-Semitism in 2022 after making a series of racist remarks. However, he later apologized, insisting it was not his ‘intention to hurt or demean’ the Jewish community.
Yet in a rambling U-turn, Kanye penned a series of tweets on X on Thursday, claiming that he will never ‘trust or work with Jewish people’ again and insisting he ‘will not apologize’ for his views.
Among his most shocking tweets in the hours-long tirade, Kanye proudly declared: ‘I AM A NAZI’, later adding: ‘I LOVE HITLER NOW WHAT B*****S.’
This is not the first time Censori has been accused of this type of behavior as she previously denied claims that she had sent porn to Yeezy staff, including minors, in July 2024; Censori and West are seen in LA earlier this month

Having voiced his support for incarcerated rapper Diddy, Kanye doubled down by saying he would ‘never speak again’ to anyone who disagreed with him, while also using homophobic slurs to lash out at those who supported Kamala Harris.
Yiannopoulos, who previously worked with Kanye on his short-lived presidential campaign, issued a denial purportedly on behalf of the couple last week, stating that West and Censori were in LA and looking forward to spending Valentine’s Day together. It is unclear whether Milo is their official representative.
